I have Untangle sitting at the center of our operations. And everything is working well. (I'm an average network "admin" who gained the title through trial and error over the years and no formal education.. so compared to you guys, I'm still a newb)
I have uploaded the current setup. Our current setup has been nimble and cost-effective since the get go and we haven't had any issues. Till recently the switches were daisy-chained. But when we added a new floor to our office, I decided to most if to a core gigabit switch to which all the switches connected.
But recently, a structured cabler gave me a new diagram that he'd like to see us executing. It involves significant costs.
We use VoIP across the 150-strong small company and our email is hosted in the cloud (Google Apps) and our CRM is the same (Zoho). We receive all our calls via SIP to a local telco.
A few employees connect to an application server that is hosted on-premise.
No VPNs or any advanced situation.
I'm wondering if this proposed diagram is a ploy for sales, and if not.. is it even required?
Please help!
