I'm new to Untangle and I'm in the process of testing out an installation for a local library. I have everything working well except the Captive Portal: I can't figure out how to allow AVG Antivirus through to retrieve virus DB updates.
I have a rule that allows Teamviewer access to the patron PCs behind the gateway and thought that something similar could be done for AVG, but no such luck.
If I look at the logs I can see AVG trying to get out on 3 different IP address using port 443, and one other IP address using port 80. But adding rules to allow the requests to pass doesn't seem to work; AVG still says that an error occurred while trying to connect to the Internet to download updates.
I've also tried adding rules to the Firewall and even Application Control Lite but so far have not succeeded. Anyone have a solution out there? This must be a common issue that others have run into, but I can't find anything in these forums or via Google.
