I'm on an Untangle branded Dell box running Build: 9.4.2 with the full paid support package. Currently running:
Web Filter, Virus Blocker, Spyware Blocker, Spam Blocker, Phish Blocker, Application Control, WAN Balancer, WAN Failover, Attack Blocker and Open VPN. Config type is Static with two WAN and one internal NIC.
My problem seems to be with the Open VPN module. This is very similar to the issue described in the following thread: http://forums.untangle.com/networkin...pen-vpn-2.html
I'm using SecureFX v7.3 to connect to an external FTP server via SFTP with a logon and password. When I try to connect I get the following result:
i Attempting to connect to 148.xx.xx.xx
i Session 00001 established for session 148.xx.xx.xx
i SSH2Core version 7.3.0.685
i Connecting to 148.xx.xx.xx:22 ...
i Changing state from STATE_NOT_CONNECTED to STATE_EXPECT_KEX_INIT
i RECV: TCP/IP close
i Changing state from STATE_EXPECT_KEX_INIT to STATE_CLOSED
i Connected for 5 seconds, 28 bytes sent, 0 bytes received
i Connection closed.
This happens with other external SFTP connections as well.
This is the strange part... If I turn off Open VPN it works fine... Most of the time... Sometimes I need to turn it off, then on, then off again but usually it just connects up bam first try.
This started happening about four weeks ago. We did change our External IP addresses but the issues didn't pop up immediately after that. I checked with the company of the FTP server and they've specifically allowed traffic from our IP's and made the change when we changed IP's. There's no port forward rules specific to port 22, no other recent changes to the UT config, nothing else I can see that would have caused this to happen.
So one of the suggestions in the other thread was to uninstall and then reinstall Open VPN. My question is, if I do that, do I need to recreate and reinstall all my VPN Clients on the outside machines? They're mostly laptop users who occasionally connect from outside but it would be a bit of a chore to do that. Or can I uninstall and reinstall Open VPN in UT and the old clients would still work?
Or is there another solution I'm missing? Oh... And I'm by no means a Linux expert so when it gets beyond the GUI in untangle, I'm a bit slow. I appreciate any help. Joe...
