Up until about mid day yesterday we had been using a SonicWall device which I'm not to familiar with.
We had been blocked but our web provider due to port hacks, so I starting reviewing some of the rules and such. I've never liked Sonicwalls.. don't have anything really against them. just don't think they are easy to work with.
When we lost internet access I pulled out the UT box I was building and never put in since there are so many other issues going on.
Now, internet is working but is brutally slow. The rack shows that I'm pushing 1.2k. rx and 30-42k tx. CPU is low since it's a Dell PE 310 server.
Both NICs are 100mb NICs - but I am at a loss as to where to look for issues. It's been a while since I worked in the UT console, but i've gotten things going again in short order.. and the other things (blocking Facebook for all but a few) is something I can find later... This performance issue is priority...
