I tried to install Untangle 10.1 32-bit on Hyper-V Server 2012 (not R2) this morning and found the networking does not work with either the standard or legacy adapters. I'm getting stuck during the installation.
If using the standard network adapters, they are not detected by the system during installation. If using legacy, they are detected but show "unknown unknown" status and have no connectivity.
I tried Untangle 10.0 on this same server briefly last year and can't remember if I had this same problem. I seem to recall getting it fully installed and running, so I don't think I did. I may upgrade my Hyper-V server to 2012 R2 this weekend and see if anything changes. I saw there was a report on the forum about it working on R2. I may try the 64-bit version as well and see if that makes any difference.
Currently I use a Zentyal Hyper-V VM as a firewall on my home network, and neither it nor Ubuntu Server have any issues with my setup, so I don't believe this is happening due to a misconfiguration on my part.
By the way, does Untangle happen to support Hyper-V 2012 R2 dynamic memory? That would be a nice feature. It works in Ubuntu simply by updating the kernel to 3.11.
