I am having trouble getting Google Earth to work behind Untangle running HTTPS inspector. If I switch off HTTPS Inspector, it works fine.
I have the Untangle certificate installed in the trusted store on my Windows machine, but Google Earth does not seem to be honoring the cert. I have been able to get a little further (loading imagery and navigating to pinned places) by adding bypass rules for kh.google.com, khmdb.google.com, mw1.google.com, mw2.google.com and maps.google.com.
Searching in Google Earth still does not work. Looking at the logs, it appears to be making a query to www.google.com when I type something in the search box in Google Earth. I can't bypass this. It's the whole reason I'm running HTTPS inspector.
I have a hunch that Google Earth is checking for a known server certificate internally and not trusting the Trusted Root Certification Authorities certificate store.
Any ideas how I can get this to work?
