Net config IP address problem

Setting up a new v10 box to test with. Trying to config the wan network address with a local address while setting up modules. I cant get the interface to accept a static IP only a DHCP ip works.

When I go back and refresh the interface page I get

The 136 address pings. Cant get the 254 address active. Rebooted...nogo.

This also happened when I connected the WAN to a clearwire modem and the internal to our network. DHCP address would work but could not get static addresses to stick.

Any ideas?
