These wildcard 'block' entries caused a lot of problems...Why?

*?.com.ar/*
*?.com.br/*
*?.com.cn/*
*?.com.pl/*
*?.com.sg/*

I really want to block traffic to these places, but a lot sites broke, literally, after saving these additions.

Any comments/thoughts?

I took the syntax from the previous thread as provided and read the referenced wiki, too.
