I am looking for a new Linux distro to replace Ubuntu. While I love what they are doing to bring Linux to the masses I also I don't like all the crap they are adding to their [default] desktop. I had thought about building Ubuntu from the server release instead as someone had recommended.
Anyhow I was hoping maybe I could get some decent input from the forum.
Is mint any good? I am looking for something that still has very good support and preferably Debian based (apt ftw!) .... and yes I have tried Debian so I'll just get that one out of the way right now.
I would be open to the RedHat side of things but if that is the case then someone has gotta show me something better than Fedora or CentOS which I find both to be frustrating with odd bugs and missing or incomplete features (more on the Fedora side).
