Hi,
I'm planning to deploy 2 kind of machines for different uses of UT.
1- for using just as security gateway (bridged transparent proxy behind other FW):
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...d-d2500cc.html
(93 , without ram, disk, chassis, psu)
that has 2 Intel NICs, up to 4 Gb ram and 2coreAtom
I think this should be ok because of Intel NICs, enough ram, and sufficient processor... Do you foresee any possible issues?
2- for using as firewall and main gateway with WAN failover/balancer:
http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/ipcboard...&productid=937
with this expansion board in order to have 5x Gb NICs
http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/ipcboard...e=AD3RTLANG-LF
(221 , without ram, disk, chassis, psu)
My concern about this setup is the unpopular Realtek RTL8111E.. I've read many posts that point this NIC to have a maximum of 20/30 Mbps of troughput (just a fraction of gigabit). Anyway those threads are old and may refer to older kernels.
Do you know if with latest version of UT this RTL81xxx driver-related problem has been solved?
Have you any experience with this hardware? Any comments? Suggestions?
