Connecting but not Stable...

I like open vpn, the simplicity is great. But the connectivity seems to be spotty. When I RDP into a server the connection drops off and on, and the rdp session freezes up frequently. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. I am going to buy the premium package mainly for other reasons, but would IPSEC vpn provide a more stable connection?

Edit: 25 mins later - Yea this is almost unusable
Edit: Internet Connection tests at 12m down and 3m up. Ping tests shows no gaps. connectivity to the servers and internal files is very spotty
